At last weekend's Walmart NW Arkansas Championship, Coughlin birdied the first nine holes of her round — the first start-to-finish nine-birdie stretch in LPGA history — en route to a career-best 61. Her 9-under 26 on the front side is also the lowest raw nine-hole score ever posted on the LPGA Tour, topping earlier nine-birdie streaks by Beth Daniel and Amy Yang that both happened mid-round rather than start to finish.

Tours resume this week at the Bank of Utah Championship and LOTTE Championship

The PGA Tour returns from its Presidents Cup break at the Bank of Utah Championship in Utah, a 120-player FedExCup Fall event with 49 past Tour winners in the field and Presidents Cup standout Jackson Koivun among the early favorites. The LPGA is in Hawaii the same week for the LOTTE Championship, headlined by world No. 2 Jeeno Thitikul with fresh NW Arkansas champion Yuna Nishimura also in the field.

Trainer Bill Mott says the reigning Horse of the Year is doing well, though not yet at 100 percent, with the plan still pointing toward the Oct. 31 Breeders' Cup Classic at Keeneland.

Super Corredora returns from a 6½-month layoff with a Zenyatta Stakes win

Last year's Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies champion controlled the pace from the start of the Grade 2 Zenyatta Stakes at Santa Anita and drew off to win by 2¾ lengths under Joel Rosario, punching a "Win and You're In" ticket to the Breeders' Cup Distaff. It's her first start since going on the shelf more than six months ago.
